Free - An Evening with Rohulamin Quander

  • Virtual Online United States (map)

The US is facing many challenges – including the global pandemic, the killings of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor by police officers, and the recent armed protests at the Capitol in Washington, D.C. Despite these events, the messages of the Black Lives Matter movement have found their place in national conversations and the recent change in the country’s leadership has signaled the potential for a new national trajectory. Washington, D.C. author and historian Rohulamin Quander adds to the conversation with his new book, The Quanders: Since 1684, An Enduring African American Legacy. This book explores his family, one of the oldest consistently documented African American families in the United States, and shares how the Quanders faced slavery then discrimination, and the positive outcomes that that have realized over time.
