About this event
The Executive Committee for African American Cultural Events (ECAACE) in partnership with the NAACP Boulder County Branch invite you to our Inaugural Boulder County Juneteenth Celebration. Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, is an important part of American history as it commemorated the official end of slavery on June 19, 1865. Join us for our Juneteenth presentation as we celebrate Freedom, acknowledge local community members in the fight for equity and justice, and pay special tribute to Ms. Opal Lee, “The 94 year old Grandmother of Juneteenth." To learn more about Ms. Opal Lee, please visit https://www.opalswalk2dc.com/
This program is a worldwide endeavor and is in collaboration with various local community members and organizations, as well as participants from multiple municipalities within Boulder County. Making Black history accessible in our communities is one of the first steps in acknowledging and celebrating African American Culture.
